Camryn's Review of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Hazel Grace, a 16-year-old cancer patient gets forced by her parents to go to a support group where she meets Augustus Waters, a ex-basketball player and amputee. Hazel and Augustus fall in love at support group and have a relationship full of adventure and romance.I think the John Green was trying to show as that not all books end with a fairy tale ending, he gave us a story of the truth, of life.I think that “The fault in our stars” was an amazing book. it gets you so engaged in the story. One night my mom told me to go up and read at 9:00 pm and then I finished the rest of my book (280 pages). It took me until 12:30 am, but it was worth it. Be prepared to cry! At the end I was in full tears and had to change my shirt before going to bed!
WHAT IS THE AUTHOR TRYING TO TELL US? The author is showing that true love will last forever no matter what gets in the way.

Kylie's Review of Sweethearts by Sara Zarr
The book Sweethearts is a realistic fiction book. The main characters are Jenna and her friends Cameron, Ethan and Katy. The story takes place in many different places but mostly takes place at Jenna’s high school and house in Nevada.
Jennifer Harris was teased about her looks and weight in elementary school. She didn't have many friends. But she had one best friend named Cameron Quick. Cameron was her best friend and they did everything together. But one week when Cameron didn't show up to school, Jennifer was confused. Weeks and eventually years had past and no one knew where Cameron went. Everyone thought that he was either kidnapped or that he was dead. Despite how confused and angry she was Jennifer's life went on. Jennifer had changed. She changed her attitude, her looks and even her name. Jenna Vaughn was the new Jennifer Harris. Jenna found a group of friends and even a boyfriend. Life was great for Jenna. Then unexpectedly Cameron had came back to his hometown. Jenna was surprised and so was Cameron, he was surprised how much she had changed. Jenna had learned about Camerons new and difficult life in California, where he lived. She made many memories with Cameron, her friends and her boyfriend Ethan. But once Cameron left to go back to California, Jenna’s life fell back apart. She was always thinking about her best friend and how much she had missed him. Jenna was not the same after Cameron left.
I think that the author is trying to teach the readers about friendships and how they can affect your life. I think this book was very good. The book was relatable, you could relate to some parts of the book and the book was very fun to read. The book involved a little bit of mystery which made it exciting. Overall this book was really good.

Kyleigh's Review of If I Stay by Gayle Forman
I read the book If I Stay written by Gayle Forman. The main characters in the book If I Stay are Mia Hall, Adam Wilde, Teddy Hall, Kat Hall (mother), and Denny Hall (father). The genre is fiction. The setting is in a hospital and the intensive care unit that Mia stays at. The summary of this book is about a girl named Mia, a gifted cellist, who had everything she really needed including parents, a boyfriend, and best friends. All of that changes after a tragic accident that kills her parents. When Mia wakes up in the ICU, after she was in this tragic accident with her parents, she has to decide if she wants to live or drift off and soon pass away. What will Mia decide? Live or Die. I think Gayle Forman is trying to explain its important to always care about yourself and your life. If you have the decision the Mia had, then always choose to live. Your life will be different but you can get through it. I thought the book was a little confusing because it kept switching from in the past and what was happening to her at the present time. Once you start to understand the book you would probably love it. If I Stay is a sad but amazing book. I would recommend this book to anyone because I usually don’t read a lot of fiction books but I loved this book. All the action and sadness mixed together is my style.

Casey's Review of Just One Day Review
Just One Day by Gayle Forman is full of adventure, outgoing characters, romance, and even some action. This story is about a girl named Allison who has her life planned out for her. On a pre-college tour of Europe, she sneaks off to a Shakespeare play and meets Willem, one of the actors. When on the train on her way to England, she and Willem are united again and he invites her to Paris for just one day. The author shares about Allyson and Willem’s adventures through Paris and is full of captivating action and romance. Personally, I’m not exactly one for romance novels, but this book has many cliffhangers and keeps you entertained. If you enjoyed books like The Fault In Our Stars or If I Stay, I think it would be safe to say that this would the book for you.

Jacqueline B. 's Review of The Fault in our Stars by John Green
The book I read was The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. The genre of this book is young-adult fiction. In this book there are two main characters Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters another character is Isaac he is not a main character. The setting of this book is Indianapolis although they travel to Amsterdam for a good section of the book.
Book Summary- The Fault In Our Stars is about a girl Hazel Grace and a guy named Augustus Waters that she meets in support group. Hazel and Gus take a trip to Amsterdam to meet Mr.Peter Van Houten and ask him questions about his book An Imperial Affliction. Hazel finds out that Gus has Cancer in his leg, but will soon go without his whole body. Hazel and Gus return from Amsterdam and everything goes downhill from there.
I really enjoyed this book because the author used a lot of descriptive words to help me understand certain parts of the book he also used some sensory details in certain parts of the book. I think the author is trying to tell us that even if you have something that affects you deeply, that does not mean you can’t try to achieve something that you think you won’t be able to.

Jacklyn's Review of She Is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick
This book takes place in NYC although the characters are from England. The main character, Laureth, is 16 and blind. Her younger brother Ben has this odd power about him that his family calls ‘The Benjamin Effect’. Her father, Jack Peak, is a famous author who is obsessed with coincidence. One day her fathers notebook lands in the hands of some American guy named Michael Walker. The catch is that Laureth’s father is in Switzerland. Knowing that something is wrong with her father she sets out to America with Ben… against her mother's wishes. Heading to Queens NY to meet Michael, She ends up putting not only her life in danger but Ben’s as well. In a race against the clock, Laureth must overcome the dangers of the city while trying to find her dad before it’s too late.
This book was excellent! I couldn't put it down! Great book, I’d recommend it to anybody!
