Isaac B.s Review of The Outsiders by Hinton.
The main character is an intelligent boy named Ponyboy who is in a not so intelligent setting. He and his best friend Johnny who is abused by his parents and is innocent go to a movie theater. On there way back they stop at a lot and lay down…. they do not realize that they go to sleep. WHen they wake up Ponyboy walks Johnny home then not knowing the time barges into the house, where he and his brothers darry and dally are. Darry and Pony get into an argument about why he is home so late which leads to Darry hitting Pony. Pony sprints out the door headed for Johnny’s house and they run away…. Later that night they are jumped and Johnny in self defense kills one of the socks, since Pony would have died if he didn’t. So they have to runaway and redeem their record so it is safe to go back home.
I think he is saying that accidents may occur but friends and family can get us through those hard times.
I think this book was good…. Very action packed and deep thoughts reflected off the events and characters in the book.
