Annie's Review of The London Eye Mystery
This book is realistic fiction, and has 322 pages. The main character in this book Ted, who is an eleven year old boy, and is greatly into weather. He is very unique, and is a really deep thinker. The setting takes place in London, where Ted and his family live. The book takes place in modern times. This book is about a visit from Ted’s Aunt and cousin. They are on their way to New York, but stop for a visit on the way. Ted and his family were very excited, because they hadn't seen their cousin and Aunt in a long time. When the relatives arrive, they decide what they want to do the next day. Salim, the cousin, decides that he wants to ride the London Eye. The next day, Ted, Salim, and his sister Kat wait in line for the ride. When they are waiting in line, a man goes up to them, and offers them a free ticket. Salim takes it, and goes up on the ride alone. Ted and Kat stay at the bottom, and watch Salim on the ride. Although when Salim mysteriously disappears, and doesn't get off the ride, they know that something is wrong. It is up to Ted and Kat to find Salim. I think the author is trying to tell us to always think, before we act, instead of just doing. I really liked the book, because you really never know what is going to happen. Also, I liked how the author slowly revealed clues throughout the book

Kates' Review of When You Reach Me By Rebecca Stead
The book “When You Reach Me” by Rebecca Stead, is a science fiction and mystery novel. The main character is Miranda, she is a sixth grader, who is curious, and is right there when one of her friends needs her help. She lives with her mom and her moms boyfriend named Richard in an apartment in New York City. When 6th grader Miranda gets a note, that says “I am coming to save your friends life, and my own. I ask two favors” she will not stop trying to solve out what they all mean, while her mom practices for the tv game show $20,000 Triangle. The author is trying to tell us that if you try to figure something out, and you don't give up, you will persevere, and you will get through it. I really liked this book, I thought that the pace was not too fast, and not to slow, and the author really was good at bringing in the reader and make her/he keep reading.

Erika's Review of Liar And Spy
The genre of the book is Mystery. The main character in this book is Georges (pronounced George). The setting of this story is Georges’ apartment building.
The book Liar and Spy is about this boy named Georges, who joins this “spy” club. The boy who runs the club lives in Georges’ apartment building. His name is Safer. Safer is a spy himself. He makes plans to have meetings to discuss what they will be spying on. It appears they will be spying on someone in their own apartment building. His name is Mr. X. They spend months spying on him. Safer and Georges come to be best friends. Mr. X seems to be a murderer. One time when Georges was spying on Mr. X and he came home to see Georges spying on him, It appears that Mr. X is a bad guy at all.
Georges realizes that he can’t trust Safer.
I think the author, Rebecca Stead is trying to tell us that you can’t always trust who you think is always there for you and someone who is trustworthy.
I think the book was pretty good. It created suspense and taught a lesson.

Nick M.'s Review of The Firebird Rocket ( A Hardy Boys Mystery # 57)
In the book The Fire Bird Rocket by Franklin W. Dixon the hardy boys are on a mission to the most well known college Princeton University to look for clues of the missing Dr. Jenson. In this realistic fictional book their chubby friend Chet launches a rocket into a farmers backyard. After the farmer comes out and a police car swerves over and a police officer says “I heard a loud noise so I rushed over to see what happened.” Frank says “we launched our rocket but the wind blew it over here so we came to get it.” Chet steps in and says “ It was an accident we meant no trouble.” “ Ok boys” said the officer. “ I understand. Then frank got a call. “It’s dad. Hey dad.” “ hey Frank I have a couple of missions I need to do but I am busy. Can you and joe do them?” said Fenton Hardy all time detective and dad of Frank and Joe Hardy. “Sure thing dad.” says Frank “We have two missions to do.” “I can give you three a ride back to your house.”said the officer to Frank. “ Thanks!” Frank said excitedly. Then they got home to pack and go to Mayer Morans office. Mr.Ponsly explained to the Hardy’s Mike Moran the son of Mayer Moran had gone missing he probably ran away because he robbed the bank or had been accused of doing so you could say, but everyone thought he did it so they referred it as him actually doing it. Then they had to go to Princeton University to solve the mystery of the missing Dr. Jenson. When they got to Princeton the Hardys and Chet got more information on the mystery from a person that had been at Princeton for a while. his name was Smokey and was very helpful to the Hardys when solving the mystery. but while they were there something felt odd like they were being followed around. Were they being followed? Yes! “He’s over there get him!” Young 18 year old Joe Hardy yelled. they chased him till they lost him and asked which way he went the person directed them upstairs but there was no sign of the unusually seen man. After a couple of days the Hardys realized there was no sign of Dr. Jenson and found out he might be in Australia. They went to Australia and when they got there they went straight to the police station to find out if there was any sign of Jenson and while they were at it they asked to see if they could find any history of Mike Moran being in Australia They found out that Jenson was staying at an In. But what was really surprising that Mike Moran had been a witness of a recent crime. After they thanked the police officer and went to the In. When the Hardys and Chet got there they asked if Jenson was still here and the Hotel clerk said no. The Hardys asked if they could take a look in Jenson’s room no sign of Jenson and no sign of anything else. Then they went back downstairs and the clerk said “I forgot to mention that he was dragged out of his room, downstairs and into a big, large car. And he did look drunk so he is probably far from here.” So they asked another person if they saw where jenson went and he said “Jenson is probably in the Australian Outback by now. So then they thought and Joe said. “Let’s ask people about where mike had gone. One person said he saw Mike and this other man probably his friend go out into the Australian outback. Meanwhile Chet was at the hotel seeing if he could find any sign of where Jenson or Mike Moran had gone. The hardys got back and saw Chet sitting on the sofa bored out of his mind and Frank says “They’re both in the Outback.”All of the sudden Chet beamed with excitement and started saying “ This Awesome, i am finally going to get to see kangaroos!” Chet kept saying. So the Hardys and Chet Drove out east to the Australian Outback to find Dr. Jenson and Mike Moran. Will the Hardys and Chet find where Dr. Jenson and Mike Moran had been? Find out whether they do or don’t by reading this action packed book.

Annie's Review of Flush
10/9/14
I read the book Flush by Carl Hiaasen, which is a realistic fiction book. The main characters in this book are Noah and Abby who are brothers and sisters, and are around ten, and twelve years old. The setting of this book is takes place in the Florida Keys. This book is about a casino boat parked at a marina. Every night after everyone leaves, the owner of the boat, Dusty Muleman dumps all of the waste in the bathroom into the ocean, instead of putting it in the sewage tanks. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is harming many sea creatures, and stopping people from swimming at Thunder Beach. Noah and Abby try to get to the bottom of it all, but there are many obstacles that they face while doing that. The author is trying to tell us how even younger kids, can make a huge positive difference, by persevering, and working hard. I loved the book, because it always left me of the edge of my seat, and I was not able to put it down. I hope you like my book review, and decide to read the book Flush.

My book review on Acceleration
By Bobby G.
The title of the book is Acceleration and it is by Graham McNamee, this is a realistic fiction book. The main character is Duncan and the story takes place in Toronto. What happens in this book is on a hot summer day, a boy working at the subway lost and found finds a book with just a plain brown leather cover. When Duncan he opens book he finds it is filled with pictures of fires and dead animals. Then he discovers that this guy (who he calls Roach) is going to try to kill someone. So he and his friends Vinny, who has three fingers on one hand but is incredibly smart and Wayne, who is clumsy but he can pick locks try to stop him. They can't turn this into the police because Duncan and Wayne stole toilets so that means they have a criminal record. Then they go on a crazy adventure of following this guy and reading up about serial killers and try to stop him. I think the author is trying to tell us that sometimes you need to “ get er done” yourself.” I thought this was a really intriguing book because it always kept me wanting to read more.
